The Optimists Clubs of America

In many ways life is just too short to be lazy, shy, scared, mean, prideful, uncaring, angry, unloving and unloveable etc... so promise yourself the following:

~Promise Yourself~

To be so strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind.

To talk health, happiness, and prosperity to every person you meet.

To make all your friends feel that there is something in them.

To look at the sunny side of everything and make your optimism come true.

To think only the best, to work only for the best, and expect only the best.

To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others as you are about your own.

To forget the mistakes of the past and press on to the greater achievements of the future.

To give so much time to the improvement of yourself that you have no time to criticize others.

To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear, and too happy to permit the presence of trouble.

Did you post this? Because at this blog, I would have expected something else:

~Promise Yourself~

To be trust God so much that nothing can disturb your peace of mind.

To talk peace, forgiveness and mercy to every person you meet.

To make all your friends feel that there is Someone who loves them.

To look at the evil in the world and see the good God has made to come of it.

To pray for only the best, to work only for the best, and expect only the best.

To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others as you are about your own.

To ask forgiveness for the mistakes of the past and ask God to guide our pathways in the future.

To give so much energy to growing in grace that you have no time to criticize others.

Optimism does consist in a realistic assessment of our failures and how to improve on them in the future. But it's not all about our own effort. God has to be the one doing the heavy lifting in our lives, otherwise we'll just get fed up with ourselves after a while.
