A Comforting Verse

I came upon this verse, Psalm 56:8.

You keep track of all my sorrows.
You have collected all my tears in your bottle.
You have recorded each one in your book.
(NLT)

That was the verse the hospital chaplain gave me when I talked to her about my daughter's impending death.

Sometimes we just can't understand why these things happen -- we can only trust that God is good, and that ultimately the horrible things will be made right. I can't imagine what you went through with this; just that your actions throughout her life honored God.

To know that He knows is a huge comfort.

What a beautiful verse. My heart goes out to Philangelus. Please take comfort in knowing this is only a temporary separation. I lost my dear father on New Years Eve and that's the one thought that keeps me strong.

My favorite verses.

'And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new.

Revelation 21:4-5a

Rita, this is beautiful. Philangelus is a friend of mine who went through a difficult experience -- you can read her story by linking back from her signature above to her website (it's a few links)
