Taxes are Voluntary!

As April 15th approaches, I have good news for you:

Harry Reid, the Senate Majority Leader, confirms that paying taxes in this country is voluntary!

Seriously, the obfuscation and double-speak in this interview just highlight what is wrong with Washington, and why American citizens are so frustrated. Harry Reid wants to reassure the interviewer that the taxpayer must fill out his own return and has some discretion in taking a few deductions, therefore the system is voluntary. His answer is technical, misleading, and irrelevant.
